Are chickens legal in your city ?
Most cities in Canada are currently reviewing its animal control bylaw but we are very confident that urban chickens will soon become legal almost everywhere in the next few years.
Chickens are tolerated in most urban areas as long as there are no complaints from neighbours. Things are slowly changing: citizens are becoming more and more open to food production in the urban environment.
However, as you are pioneers, it‘s your responsibility to ensure good communication between you and your neighbours. At POC POC, we believe that social acceptance of such a project is simply a question of education and awareness!
You will find below a list of cities allowing domestic urban hens:
If your city does allow poultry but is not on the list, please contact us so we can adjust it!
